I am sharing this story written by someone I follow on Substack, Gavin Mounsey. I have had many similar experiences with trees and plants in my walks around our land, up and down the Schoharie River and standing in awe of the view and peaceful energy on the mountain known as Onistgrawa by the Mohawks. Taking a step away from the doings of humanity and walking in Nature helps bring a perspective that so many have lost or have yet to discover.
The rapid fire of information that comes through the devices that we all have, pull our attention to things outside and far away from our “here and now” in the space gifted to us. Our space can be whatever we make of it. It’s always our choice.
Since my Earth walk was destined to travel with horses, they walk (or should walk) in Nature as much as we have the power to provide in confinement. They speak and are story keepers as well. Have you ever asked a horse to tell you their Story? They can!
Here’s a story about a horse named Lilly-
Every Horse Has A Story
I arrived at my first stop to trim BJ, short for Black Jack, a very flashy Appaloosa in both color and personality who I have worked with for many years. As I entered the traditional boarding barn, (one of the very few I go to) I opened the door to the office area entrance, ducked under the bar that keeps horses from going in the corner if they were to …
And YES, your horse can and will speak to you…just like the story keeper and shepherd of the trees.
love your stories!!! always interesting and always well written!!!
