I hope this is not too much of an imposition to ask you a question. First, I want to tell you that our horses are scheduled to arrive to us on Wednesday! We are very excited and a little nervous too!
One is a 8-10 year old thoroughbred gelding and the other 18-20 y.o. Missouri Walker, mare…. Both need attention to their feet, but especially the thoroughbred. I will complete the form you sent me for each horse and get them back to you however considering your situation I will leave it up to you as to when you can come visit and evaluate and trim their feet.
My question has to do with a recommendation for a feed to put weight on the thoroughbred. He’s not terribly underweight, a few ribs showing and has been on hay with nothing additional at the rescue. Being a thoroughbred I would like him to be at a good weight come winter. Anything you feel would be best?
